Recently, a new type of juicing machine has appeared on the market, known as the slow juicer, and many women are discussing how it offers more benefits than conventional juicers. So, what is a slow juicer, and what are its advantages? Let’s find out why you should consider buying a slow juicer.
How a Slow Juicer Works
Conventional juicers operate with high-speed motors. Their blades rotate at a very high speed, which shreds fruits when you feed them into the machine. Then, centrifugal force separates the juice from the pulp, but the high operating temperature can cause the loss of nutrients in the juice.
In contrast, slow juicers work by using a screw-like auger to slowly press fruits into a mesh filter. There is a separate pulp ejection feature that ensures the juice is thoroughly separated from the pulp, resulting in higher nutrient retention.
Versatile Functions
In general, both fruit juicers and slow juicers can process most of the same foods, but slow juicers have a notable advantage as they can juice soybeans, ginger, and various types of vegetables.
Another superior feature is the ability of slow juicers to process frozen fruits, allowing you to create delicious and nutritious frozen desserts for your family.
Quality of Juice
Conventional centrifugal juicers tend to leave a significant amount of water content in the pulp, resulting in waste. The juice produced by these juicers may not look very appealing due to the presence of small bubbles.
On the other hand, slow juicers excel in this aspect. Since they use a slow squeezing mechanism, the resulting juice is of high quality, and according to statistics, slow juicers can double the juice yield and increase the vitamin content by up to six times compared to centrifugal juicers.
Ease of Use and Cleaning
Centrifugal juicers emit a loud noise when in operation, which can be bothersome if you have children or elderly family members at home. This issue is resolved with slow juicers as they operate quietly and produce minimal noise.
