Nguyen Van Quyet was born on June 27, 1991, in Huu Bang, Thach That, Hanoi. He is the youngest in a family of five siblings. From a young age, he displayed the qualities of a football superstar and dreamt of becoming a professional player. These passions have shaped him into an exemplary captain of the Vietnamese national team.
Career of Nguyen Van Quyet

Nguyen Van Quyet’s career began in 2005 when he was only 15 years old. He joined the Thể Công youth training academy, marking the start of his dazzling “jersey and shorts” career. He captained the Vietnam U19 national team to victory over the Thai U21 team, clinching the championship of the 2010 U21 International Thanh Nien Newspaper Cup. He was also voted the tournament’s best player at that time.
Hanoi FC
After Thể Công disbanded and transferred to Viettel, Hanoi FC acquired the team. Van Quyet quickly established his value through intelligent play and excellent technique. From 2011 to the present, Nguyen Van Quyet has won four V-League championships with Hanoi FC.
In 2018, he was entrusted with the captain’s armband by coach Park Hang Seo for the AFF Cup. Vietnam achieved glory in this tournament, bringing pride to the country after many years of waiting.
In the 2020 V-League season, Nguyen Van Quyet scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists. Additionally, he contributed 5 goals and 2 assists, helping Hanoi FC successfully secure the National Cup championship.
Individual Honors
With his exceptional ball control skills, Van Quyet was named the best young player in Vietnam in 2010 and 2011. In 2014, he won the Silver Ball Vietnam award, and in 2018, he was selected as the best player in the V-League. Once again, in 2020, he won the Golden Ball Vietnam award.
