According to traditional medicine, using massage and acupressure on the back is an incredibly effective and practical method for treating back pain. In this article, Shopdepre will share with you effective massage and acupressure techniques to overcome these painful episodes.
Massage and Acupressure for the Mingmen Point
The Mingmen acupressure point is located approximately one finger’s width away from the spine. Performing massage and acupressure at this point can help treat nerve pain, spinal pain, and stiffness in the back.
To stimulate the Mingmen point, sit upright, use both hands to support your lower back, and then place your fingers on the location of the acupressure point. Apply moderate pressure for about 2 minutes.
Massage and Acupressure for the Shenshu Point
The Shenshu acupressure point is located one finger’s width away from the spine on both sides. Performing massage and acupressure at this point can help relieve back pain caused by kidney issues.
To stimulate this acupressure point, use your thumbs to apply moderate pressure and massage the area for about 2-3 minutes.
Massage and Acupressure for the Tianzhu Point
The Tianzhu acupressure point is located on both sides of the spine, two rib spaces below the armpits. Massaging and applying acupressure at this point can help regulate menstruation and balance the digestive system.
To stimulate the Tianzhu point, use your thumbs to apply pressure to the acupressure point and hold for approximately 2 minutes.
In addition to these acupressure points, you can also massage and apply acupressure to the Dazhu Point (located in the middle between thoracic vertebrae T1 and T2), the Feishu Point (located in the middle between thoracic vertebrae T3 and T4), and the Daitong Point (located between lumbar vertebrae L4 and L5).
Massage and acupressure for the back are very effective methods. However, there are many areas in the back that our hands cannot reach, so you may seek assistance from someone else for massage and acupressure, or visit therapy massage centers, or use a full-body massage chair.
Modern massage chairs today are equipped with 3D and 4D roller systems that can move flexibly and adjust the massage intensity to suit each user’s needs. These rollers are integrated with sensors to scan the body and identify the specific areas that require accurate massage and acupressure.
